Bloody Soul

I heard a soul crying out loud
On an empty road
With the winter moon behind a cloud.

I kept on walking but once again it tried,
"This is not your dream.
No one else could hear my scream.
Please help me, I don't want to die.
Can't you feel my gasps?"
and the storm breathed a sigh.

Hence, frightened I,
"Who are you at 3:00 am lonely night?
Don't hide from me, please come in the light.
I promise I'll save you.
No one will dare to hurt you."

"Either come to me following my voice,
Or run away making a coward's choice."

Yes! I decided to follow the voice,
Opting a heroic choice.

There stood it, shining, at the end of the road.
Looking at it, my heartbeat slowed.

It was a huge mirror which showed my soul.
I, myself was the murderer and the victim was in my control.

Theme of the poem: In our life we all have some dreams. Most of us stop listening to our heart and restrict our inner voices. This way we forget who we really are and who we wanted to become. We start living a fake life, always influenced by others. Thus, we kill our soul and make ourselves tamable.
